Bike Seats Not To Blame For Low Sperm Count

Some experts believe prolonged sitting on a bicycle seat could compress the arteries and nerves to the testicles and lower sperm count. But no clear link has been found, says Dr. Boris Klopukh, a urologist in Aventura.

''On a theoretical level there is no association between sperm count and bicycle riding,'' he says.

In 2003, one study did find male mountain bicyclists, who rode more than two hours a day for six days a week, had a lower sperm count than nonbicyclists. But the bicycle seats are not likely to blame. Rigorous exercise alone could have raised scrotal temperature enough to decrease sperm count. Also, mountain bikers often suffer minor scrotal trauma that can decrease sperm production.

In a related topic, bicycle seats could cause erectile dysfunction. Three new studies reported in the Journal of Sexual Medicine suggest pressure on the area of skin between the anus and the scrotum, called the perineum, may affect blood flow to the penis and cause erectile dysfunction in some men. But most riders, even professionals, will not experience any sexual problem.

''The majority of these perineal trauma injuries from bicycle riding are limited and reversible,'' Klopukh says.

Wider seats and ergonomically designed saddles with central cut outs may help reduce perineal pressure. So can tipping the seat a bit forward.

10 Reasons To Do It Doggie-Style

The Kama Sutra names it “the Union of the Cow,” the French coo levrette, the Italians whisper pecorina and the Americans call it “doggy-style”. The position is as old as the first four-legged animal who could back dat ass up, and it stands today as a guaranteed good time.

As the name implies, doggy-style is sex in the image of our canine companions. Basically, the receiving partner crouches on hands and knees while the other partner penetrates the vagina or the anus with his penis (or with her strap-on dildo) from behind.


Here are 10 good reasons to get freaky on all fours:


1. Makes a statement. It’s really the only socially conscious way to fuck. There is a mythic history to doggy-style that claims missionaries repressed the position in the native villages they were trying to “civilize.” They taught the “missionary position” (man on top, woman on bottom, facing each other) as the only acceptable intercourse. So doggy-style is not just naughty, it’s a symbol of protest!

Brokeback Mountain at Venice Film Festival

Gay cowboy film likely to upset conservative US
Sense And Sensibility director Ang Lee has risked the wrath of right-wing America with his latest film unveiled at the Venice Film Festival today - Brokeback Mountain, the story of cowboys in love.
Oscar-winning director Lee adapted the film from a short story which appeared in The New Yorker in 1997.
The film, about a relationship between a ranch hand and rodeo cowboy, could mean the smashing of Hollywood’s last taboo.
The film, starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, is up for the Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Festival.
Taiwan-born Lee, who made the film after seven years of other directors toying with the idea, described the movie, which contains a sex scene between the two men, as “a great American love story”.
Set in the Sixties, it is based on the short story by Pulitzer Prize-winning author E Annie Proulx, of hidden sexuality in the American West. Ledger and Gyllenhaal’s characters fall in love while working as sheep herders in the majestic Brokeback Mountain. At the summer’s end, the pair return to their normal lives – and both marry. Four years later they meet again, and their relationship is secretly rekindled.
The Calgary Gay Rodeo Association advised and consulted the production and also appear in several sequences.
Many Hollywood stars are advised not to take gay parts for fear of denting their image in the eyes of conservative America. Some major actors are said to have refused to audition for the film, despite the fact that the director can usually audition anyone he wants.
Major Hollywood stars, such as Tom Hanks and Antonio Banderas, have played gay roles in the past, but not which such frank intimacy. Hollywood has failed to embrace homosexuality in the same way as its TV sitcoms, like Will and Grace and Queer as Folk, have done.
Today Lee said his biggest battle was fighting against a false idea of the west, which he said had been invented by movies. “My biggest enemy was the more conventional western. “The genre was invented. As a foreigner, we go for real things and some things run into trouble with the convention. “If we thought too much about what people would think, “I would be so scared I wouldn’t try to make the movies. The best way is to block it out.“
A love story has a good vibe and I hope it prevails the culture and whatever differences people have,” he said. The actors, who Lee described as the “cream of young talent” are portrayed at different ages as the story spans 20 years.

Tom Williams on Sexiest Men Alive List

Tom Williams of Dancing with the Stars fame ranked number five on DNA Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive list. Tom had suddenly grown in popularity with gay men after dancing with his shirt off on the show.


Tom would not comment on being listed in the magazine. His publicist said that he declined to be interviewed by the magazine and did not want to comment now.

Number one on the list was Brad Bitt, followed by model Brent Van Zant, actor Orlando bloom and soccer player Davis Beckham.

Copenhagen gets 2009 Gay Olympics

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (UPI)
The 2009 gay Olympics will be held in Copenhagen and city officials see it as a testament to tolerance and a warm up to an Olympic Games bid in 2024.
The Gay and Lesbian International Sport Association announced the decision that will bring 16,000 homosexual athletes from 100 countries as part of the World OutGames, the Copenhagen Post reports.
Martin Geertsen, a city councilman and head of cultural and recreation in Denmark`s capital said the World OutGames will give the city a chance to test run a possible Olympic Games bid.
The World OutGames is a scaled-down version of the Olympic Games but for gay athletes.
The World OutGames will be held in Montreal next year.
