Others Are Jealous of My Lifestyle

British singer George Michael has branded other men "jealous" of his carefree lifestyle -- and insists it's the reason why the press hate him.
The star is due to be sentenced on June 8 after pleading guilty last month to driving while unfit due to drug use, following an incident in London last year.
But Michael believes he is disliked by his fellow men because of his hedonistic lifestyle.
He says, "I think at the end of it all I represent something profoundly different for society.
"I have grown up surrounded by people who think that sex, drugs and rock n' roll is compatible with a working life while being married with children. During the 1980s, my generation and the one after me, found that was impossible.
"Me, I don't want any children, I don't want responsibility. I am gay, I smoke weed and I do exactly what I want in my life because of my talent. I represent an ideal which others have had to let go and they blame me for that. Especially men."
The singer will appear at Brent Magistrates Court to be sentenced on June 8 -- one day before he performs the inaugural gig at London's newly rebuilt Wembley Stadium.

George Michael Pleads Not Guilty

LONDON - Pop star George Michael on Wednesday denied being unfit to drive after being found slumped over the wheel of his car in London last year.
The singer was arrested and cautioned after being found in his car and in possession of cannabis.
Michael, born George Panayiotou, was not at Brent Magistrate's Court to enter his plea, with his lawyer acting on his behalf.
According to a court official, the case resumes on March 7, and a trial date has been set for April 23, when the 43-year-old former Wham! frontman will be expected to attend. He is charged with being unfit to drive.
Michael, who has sold more than 80 million records throughout his career, has had a series of brushes with the law.
In April 1998 he was arrested for engaging in a "lewd act" in a public toilet in Los Angeles, after which he ended years of speculation over his sexuality by announcing that he was gay.
The creator of hits including "Last Christmas" and "Careless Whisper" wrote a song "Outside" and based the accompanying video on the infamous public restroom incident.

George Michael Caught Again With Marijuana

LONDON, ENGLAND - Fading pop star George Michael has once again been found slumped at the wheel of his car in London after a night of heavy clubbing.
Michael was spotted seemingly asleep at the wheel of his BMW that had stopped at traffic lights just a mile away from his North London home at 3.28am on Sunday.
Irate drivers attempted to rouse the singer by banging on his car windows, but in the end were forced to call the police who took him to hospital.
This is the second time in 12 months that Michael has been found in a similar state; he has also been in trouble with the law for smashing into three of his neighbours cars and came under fire for having sex with a man on Hampstead heath.
A police source told the Mirror: “He was slumped over the wheel of his car and completely out of it. He must have been absolutely wasted because he had to go to hospital.”
When police arrived on the scene they breath tested Michael for alcohol before taking him to a local police station where a small amount of cannabis was discovered on his person.
He was then taken to hospital as a doctor feared he could be very ill indeed due to a mix of drugs and alcohol.
After being discharged he was then taken back to the police station where he accepted a police caution regarding the cannabis and was released on bail, but must return in November when the results of his blood alcohol level tests will be known.
George Michael is currently 3 dates into a 50 date European tour…will he get through it, it looks pretty unlikely.

British singer and composer George Michael kicked off his first tour in fifteen years in Barcelona Saturday.
The artist staged a two-hour-long concert in which he included all his past and present hits from the times he was the lead singer of Wham! in the eighties until his last album Patience in 2004.
Right before a twenty-minute break, a giant inflatable dummy representing US president George W. Bush and an English bulldog representing UK's prime minister Tony Blair were displayed as a political statement showing the artist's opposition to the US/UK's led war in Iraq.
George Michael was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou in Bushey, North London, in 1963. During his student years, he played and sang for several musical bands until 1982, when he and Andrew Ridgeley formed Wham!
In 1987 he launched his solo career with the album Faith, followed by commercial flaw Listen Without Prejudice in 1989, Older (1996), the compilation Ladies and Gentlemen (1998), Songs from the last century (1999) and Patience (2004). He is set to release a new album later this year.
During his 2006 tour will George Michael will visit many European countries, including Italy, Belgium, France, Germany and the UK.

Elton John Ends Spat With George Michael

LONDON - Elton John has put an end to his feud with fellow British pop star George Michael, declaring "we're fine."
The row erupted two years ago when John said Michael appeared to be in a "strange place," wasting his talent by staying at home and shunning the limelight.
Michael later complained that harsh media treatment of his private life started after John's adverse comments.
But Elton John was all sweetness and light on Friday, telling ITV host Michael Parkinson: "George and I are fine. He came and stayed down my house last year. We're fine."
Putting an end to his public spat, John said "I'd rather keep my mouth shut ... It's up to him what he does with his life really and I don't really want to get into that anymore."
Michael ended years of speculation about his sexuality by announcing he was gay after he was arrested in 1998 for engaging in a "lewd act" in a public toilet in Los Angeles.
Michael, the former frontman of Wham, was arrested in February for possessing illegal drugs.
The singer, who has sold more than 80 million records with hits like "Careless Whisper," is to launch his first tour in 15 years later this month in Barcelona.
