Free Condom Offer In Night Taxis

UNITED KINGDOM - Taxi drivers will begin giving out free condoms in a bid to reduce the number of sexually transmitted infections.
More than 5,000 free condoms in "discreet" envelopes have been given to drivers from Dragon Taxis in Cardiff.
Passengers can request the free contraceptives on Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights after 2230 BST.
Dragon Taxis said they hoped the public would not be shy about asking for the condoms, which come with a leaflet about sexually transmitted diseases.
The Safe Ride Home project was piloted in Brighton in August last year and will be launched in other cities across the UK over the next few months.
Cal Tritschler, from Dragon Taxis, said 380 drivers had been given about 20 condoms each.
"They're in the glove compartment out of view," he said.
"The customer has got to broach the subject, the driver's not going to offer them - from there on it's pretty natural."
Black envelope
The campaign's Christina Wright said the scheme had been created to try to "communicate the condom message at the most appropriate time".
She told BBC Radio Wales: "How many passengers are likely to say to a taxi driver 'hang on can you just pull over at a petrol station or I'm just going to pop into a garage?'.
"I think many people just decide they haven't got condoms, they're going to take a risk and throw caution to the wind."
The condoms are in a black envelope with a leaflet reminding people on the importance of protecting against sexually transmitted infections, she added.
