American Idol judge Simon Cowell appeared on CNN on Friday as a guest on Larry King to dish on all things American Idol. The snarky Brit sparred with AI host Ryan Seacrest and the interview was basically light. But King then pressed Cowell on Idol being anti-gay which quickly led to the rumors of Clay Aiken and his sexual orientation scandal.
The "scandal" invented as it is by ex-marine John Paulus and his quest for some sort of fame continues and the interview on CNN proves it still has legs.
King set the table by asking "And what about accusations about you being anti-gay?
Simon, "Well, we're accused of everything, you know, anti- gay, anti-fat, anti this, anti that. I think we're just anti everything, you know. I mean that's the way it goes. I mean it's just..."
The Larry King asked "What about Clay Aiken and the possible lawsuits?"
It would probably be nice if no one cared.
But as long as American Idol is popular the question are going to be asked of anyone affiliated with the show - especially to Simon - given his history with Clay.
Larry King is pure softball as far as his questions go - but even he had to bring up the scandal.
