Eric McCormack Does Not Want To Be Typecast As Gay

Will And Grace star Eric McCormack is determined to move on from the hit sitcom to star on the big-screen, because he doesn't want to be typecast as gay.

The 42-year-old actor shot to fame in the hit comedy - and has starred as camp Manhattan lawyer Will Truman since the show began in 1998.

But when the final series comes to an end next year (06), the Canadian is hunting for roles which will change movie-maker's perceptions of his sexuality - and is already planning to star in and direct his own romantic comedy.
He says, "Television fame makes people say, 'That's who that guy is. That's the way he is.'
"Now I have to say, 'Look, I'm lots of other guys, too.'"
