Coach Gets 10 Years In Sex Attacks On Boys

SAN FERNANDO - A Sylmar High School soccer coach was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday after his no-contest plea in January to sexually assaulting several boys, authorities said.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Shari Silver handed down the sentence to Eduardo Colocho, 28, who worked at the high school for six years as an office clerk and assistant soccer coach. He was arrested in September on suspicion of sexually assaulting a student.
In January, Colocho pleaded no contest to four felony counts, including sodomy of an unconscious victim and three counts of oral copulation of a person under 18. Colocho was originally charged with 15 felony counts and two misdemeanors. He allegedly assaulted 11 teens between 14 and 17 years old.
Deputy District Attorney Michael Grosbard said he was satisfied with the sentence.
"The victims will not have to testify, which is difficult in these kind of matters, and society will be protected for a significant amount of time," he said.
Colocho is eligible for parole in five years.
