Murder Trial For Porn Actor In Denver Slaying

Timothy Bohan
DENVER, COLORADO - Police say gay porn actor Timothy Boham told them he was planning to steal $40,000 he thought was in a safe when he killed a Denver businessman in his home.
He wound up, however, with only some jewelry and other items that he dumped before fleeing to New Mexico.
Boham, 25, was ordered to stand trial on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery after a hearing Tuesday in Denver District Court.
John Paul Kelso, 43, owner of a debt collection company, was found dead Nov. 13 in the bathtub of his Congress Park home by his housekeeper.
Boham, who had worked briefly for Kelso, was arrested near the U.S.-Mexico border after he confessed to his mother and sister, said Detective Aaron Lopez.
Boham said he decided to rob Kelso Nov. 11 because his girlfriend was pregnant and he needed cash, Lopez said.
Once there, Boham couldn't make up his mind whether to kill Kelso and sat on the sofa with his gun for about an hour trying to decide what to do, Lopez said.
When the two went up to Kelso's bedroom, Boham demanded that Kelso open the safe, Lopez said. Boham put the gun to Kelso's head, hit him in the eye with the weapon and tried to handcuff him, the detective said.
At one point, Kelso tried to press a panic button for his security system. Boham took the victim to the foot of the bed, put a pillow to his head and shot him, Lopez said.
Using a belt, he dragged Kelso to the bathroom, leaving him in the tub with a bloody towel, Lopez said.
Police said Boham told them he bought a saw at a Home Depot, which he used to cut open the safe, but was disappointed to find it contained only some car titles, cuff links and a couple of rings. Afterward, he removed rings, a Rolex watch and a bracelet from Kelso's body, police said.
Boham appeared in several gay porn movies in 2004 and 2005 under the name Marcus Allen.
