Police Seek Man Linked To Gay Porn Producer's Murder

Kocis Suspect
WYOMING – Investigators late Friday afternoon released a picture of a man they believe was scheduled to meet with Bryan Charles Kocis, who was found dead inside his burning Dallas Township home on Jan. 24.
State police Lt. Frank Hackin said the man’s identity remains unknown. It is believed the unidentified man is from the Allentown or Philadelphia area, and may have the last name, “Drake.” Investigators want to talk to him, they said.
“We’re looking to identify him; we’d like to talk to him about his association with (Kocis),” Hackin said.
Investigators learned that Kocis, 44, had e-mailed an associate with photographs of the unidentified man, stating that he was meeting the man at 7 p.m. at his home. The unidentified man was to be a model for Kocis’ company, Cobra Video.
Cobra Video produces and sells gay pornographic movies. Established in 2001, the company sells films featuring young men on its Web site.
The burned body of Kocis was found by firefighters after they responded to a fire at his home at 60 Midland Drive at about 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 24, 90 minutes after he was scheduled to meet the unidentified man.
Kocis’ body was identified by dental records.
Luzerne County Coroner Dr. John Consalvo said Kocis died from multiple stab wounds to the torso and neck, and was dead before the fire broke out.
A search warrant affidavit filed in the case suggested that Kocis may have had a “personal association” with the suspect because there were no defensive stab wounds on the victim’s arms and hands.
Firefighters found an open exterior door at the home.
The search warrant signed by Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr. gave investigators authority to obtain Kocis’ telephone and cell phone records, and e-mails to determine who he was in contact with before he was killed.
A witness said she saw a light-colored sport utility vehicle backing out of Kocis’ driveway at the same time smoke alarms were sounding inside the Kocis home.
